Safety and comfort are paramount virtues in feng shui. Good chi flow is meaningless if the environment isn’t safe – if you’re going to trip on something in the dark, dent your hip on a sharp corner, or fall off a missing step.
The side door of this home drops off precipitously, with no landing step and only the narrowest of steps below the door. From the outside it looks like the door is a floating afterthought; from the inside it’s a broken ankle waiting to happen.
Once the steps are replaced, a gravel path would make the door much more appealing.
Feng shui is, more often than not, simple common sense and good design.
